According to Google Trends, the search terms related to scrapbook and scrapbooking have seen a 70 percent decline since its peak in 2005-2006.[20] However, there is much debate among the community of people who engage in memory keeping about what the decline means for the health and future of the industry as a whole. What seems to be clear is that traditional scrapbooking is once again in a transition period due to many forces including current economic issues, the influence of social media and the ease of digital sharing, and the rejection of the stereotype of traditional scrapbooks being something that is for older women. However, if one takes a closer look, it is easy to see all the ways people continue memory keeping even if it doesn't fall strictly within the definition of traditional scrapbooking as defined here.

OK SMS Peep's....I am in a "It's Gotta Go" kinda mood as we have been cleaning out used dies, stamps, embossing folders, displays and other crafting tools in the shop that have to GO! So, the SMS Staff has been filling up boxes of yummy crafty stuff to take home with them....It was mandatory! If they wanted their paycheck they also had to take some of this left over stuff home for free!!! Boxes and boxes and boxes were filled up and on their way to their new homes to be loved and enjoyed! But....guess what else I found? Hummmmmmmmm...I think you will be thrilled that I was in an "It's Gotta Go" mood! It seems that I have a Sizzix Big Shot Machine and a Spellbinders Platinum 6 Machine that are BRAND NEW and screaming to be given away!!! Can you say, "Wahoooooo Kachoooo!" Funny thing it, we are bringing BOTH machines back to our online store as part of this week's Saturday with Stacey You Tube Yummies Sale, so this is the PERFECT TIME to give one of each away!!! Now, for a chance to be a WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER PEEP here at SMS, what do you have to post for a chance to WIN one of these machines? So easy-peasy...just tell me the machine that YOU want to WIN! Now, these are REALLY BIG PRIZES as both machines retail for $119.00 each, so here is the catch. You must pick only ONE MACHINE to win...ya can't say that you would be happy with either. And...you can only post ONCE. We need to be fair to everyone. Smiles, Stacey #scrapbookingmadesimple
Also, also on a good note, I've seen a few of Stacey's videos and have learned some things.  For instance, now i know the difference between a Sizzix Big Kick and a Sizzix Big Shot!  And now i know why I don't see the Big Shot in Joann's or Michael's!  (I hear more of the Big Shot than the Big Kick, so I wanted to find out the difference between them.)
Then, we add in the latest 12 colors of I... Zink Diamond Glitter by Aladine and you have a WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. Yep, this is the glitter that needs no glue and drys in a snap. Seriously, in most cases it dries in under a minute. No more leaving your projects to dry over night or worse yet....smudging them when you accidentally touch them!!!
A NEW manufacturer comes to Scrapbooking Made Simple today! Let's all welcome Studio Light and their incredibly affordable decoupage books. When I say "bang for your buck", I mean it when it comes to this products. It is all stunning. It is all easy to use. It allows you to keep things simple or BAM...take them up a notch! It really is a wonderful product for all types of crafters!
Yes lots of product but don't be in a hurry for orders. I received order today of order placed ONE YEAR AGO on July 18, 2016. And it wasn't complete because one item had been "discontinued". I don't believe it for a minute. If been asking and asking and was told it ships when it ships. I asked again on 17th and low and behold they found only part of my order in the sinkhole of orders. Might have lots of good product but if going to have sales be sure to have staff to ship orders before you start yet ANOTHER sale.

So, here it is, once again, my shout out to those of you in sunny California. This weekend, pass up coming to SMS. Instead, take your crafty budget, regardless of if it is big or small, and make the trip to see Wooten's Scrapbook Store. They are having a wonderful SALE along with selling off their fixtures! And, who doesn't need storage for all of your stash.

Hmmmm.)   When I emailed, I get a reply saying that they are behind on their orders and stuff like that.  It's two Stamping Bella stamp sets and they don't carry this brand any where else, except of course the actual company.  I am so used to my orders coming within days to, at most, a week or two, but this is way too long.  I'm not too far away from the store, but they don't have these particular stamps in their store.  :-/

Next, simply replace each template on your layout with the completed paper element. It is hard to describe the sense of satisfaction that comes as you watch your design spring to life before your eyes! And the best part is that it will look exactly like you thought it would every time, if not better! The end result will be an inexpensive, beautiful layout that will bring an added sense of creative fulfillment to your day!
Just watched the owner of this business berate the employees at a local restaurant for about ten minutes. All while wearing the sweatshirt bearing her company logo and repeatedly touting the fact that she was a local business owner. Good for her I guess? Super professional of her. So go here if you support that kind of behavior. Or you could just hit up the local craft stores instead.

2.5 stars. Generally, the examples are way too busy for my tastes (I think they are trying to sell more products.) Good basic ideas and layouts for beginners. Offers lots of encouragement. Covers everything from fonts to cropping to creating your work space to embellishments to album ideas. As a long time scrapbooker, I found it was NOT made easy, simply because there was so much in it.
Are you spending too much time or money on your layouts? Do you feel uninspired or uncreative? We believe that the key to finding joy in the journey from concept to completion is simplicity. We’d like to introduce you to a system that utilizes the power of simplicity to overcome the most common frustrations that we face as scrapbookers, regardless of our level of expertise.
Scrapbooking is one of the largest categories within the craft and hobby industry and now considered[by whom?] to be the third most popular craft in the nation. From 1996 through 2004, sales of scrapbooking products increased across the United States. In 2005, annual sales flattened for the first time after many back to back years of double growth. From 2006 through 2010 traditional scrapbooking sales have declined, while digital forms of scrapbooking have grown. Traditional scrapbooking sales for 2010 have declined to about $1.6 billion in annual sales from a peak of about $2.5 billion in 2005.[28]
In the 15th century, commonplace books, popular in England, emerged as a way to compile information that included recipes, quotations, letters, poems and more. Each commonplace book was unique to its creator's particular interests. Friendship albums became popular in the 16th century. These albums were used much like modern day yearbooks, where friends or patrons would enter their names, titles and short texts or illustrations at the request of the album's owner. These albums were often created as souvenirs of European tours and would contain local memorabilia including coats of arms or works of art commissioned by local artisans.[1] Starting in 1570, it became fashionable to incorporate colored plates depicting popular scenes such as Venetian costumes or Carnival scenes. These provided affordable options as compared to original works and, as such, these plates were not sold to commemorate or document a specific event, but specifically as embellishments for albums.[1] In 1775, James Granger published a history of England with several blank pages at the end of the book. The pages were designed to allow the book's owner to personalize the book with his own memorabilia.[2] The practice of pasting engravings, lithographs and other illustrations into books, or even taking the books apart, inserting new matter, and rebinding them, became known as extra-illustrating or grangerizing.[2] Additionally, friendship albums and school yearbooks afforded girls in the 18th and 19th centuries an outlet through which to share their literary skills, and allowed girls an opportunity to document their own personalized historical record[3][4] previously not readily available to them.
