A couple of months went by and I contacted Stacey on her facebook page for the store 12/9/13 inquiring about our product. She told me our order was mailed out late October 2013 and she would contact USPS and if she had to then resend another order and call me to verify my address. I left my address on her facebook page and still have not heard from her as of DECEMBER 14, 2013 !!
Cardstock is the firm paper onto which you’ll glue your photos and embellishments. Typically, it's more flexible than paperboard, but stiffer than standard paper. You can find cardstock in a wide range of solid colours, patterns and textures, so it's easy to choose a look that matches your theme. Consider solid-colour cardstock if you plan on tearing pages for effect and don't want to expose an unattractive white core. Look for acid and lignin-free cardstock for decorated pages that will resist fading and discolouring over time.
I love this store. The employees and the owner are friendly. And they have the widest selection of product across many companies I have ever seen. If they are out, they will order it for you. Yes online orders do take a while, but you have to understand, they are a mom and pop store that gets so many orders, it is impossible for them to get the orders out as timely as many people would like. Especially if you order during their super busy times of the year like Shop Hop, Sizzix warehouse sale, Spellbinders warehouse sale, and CHA. If you need something sooner, go to the store and buy it. If you can wait and don't need it any time soon, but want it, then place and order. They curently do not charge your credit card until it is being packaged for shipping. They don't hide anything. "it ships when it ships." They announce this all the time, especially when they are coming up to their busy times of year. I can't imagine how many orders they get during her big event times of the year mentioned above. Must be in the thousands. With their new site, customers now have the option to pay with paypal when it comes time for your order to be packaged. If you need something now and can't get to the store, order it elsewhere. I hate to send business away from such a great store and such wonderful people, but it is what it is. I only order online what I don't need right away, can't get to the store, and/or when I want to take advantage of the amazing deals they have that you can't get anywhere else. They also carry product you can't get anywhere else at times. I am fortunate enough to be close enough to make the trip to her store when I need to most of the time. They have been updating their systems and hiring new employees, but in order to continue giving the deep discounts to their customers and still be profitable, they can't go hiring hundreds of employees to manage all their orders or spend tens of thousands on a better system. They offer free shipping on most items with a $50 or more order. There are a few items that weigh so much they cannot offer free shipping. With each new change that has been implemented, there have been improvements on shipping times. They are doing what they can and eventually they will find that formula that works best to reduce ship times to the best they possibly can. It's all a matter of finding those solutions. The owners of this store really want the best for their customers which is why they work so hard to get amazing products at amazing prices.
I make a point to order the really good deals with no expectation of delivery dates (as Stacey says all the time, it ships when it ships), which I know can really put some people off. I look at it like this: "I may have to wait a while to get some items, but once I have it, I'm happy with my purchase and will many times have something that I couldn't get for the great price anywhere else". Also, I don't order something thinking that I will need it for a certain project trying to tell myself that it should be here in time. There are plenty of other things to purchase all over the internet for those projects!
Then, we add in the latest 12 colors of I... Zink Diamond Glitter by Aladine and you have a WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. Yep, this is the glitter that needs no glue and drys in a snap. Seriously, in most cases it dries in under a minute. No more leaving your projects to dry over night or worse yet....smudging them when you accidentally touch them!!!
Our Designer Templates were designed to help you take advantage of that stack of paper that you’ve probably been hanging on to. They are a simple, back-to-basics tool for cutting universally appealing shapes out of your paper that will result in gorgeous scrapbook layouts in half the time! But that is only one small part of what this product can do for you! Let’s show you what we mean!
The advent of scanners, desktop publishing, page layout programs, and advanced printing options make it relatively easy to create professional-looking layouts in digital form. The internet allows scrapbookers to self-publish their work. Scrapbooks that exist completely in digital image form are referred to as "digital scrapbooks" or "computer scrapbooks".
Next, simply replace each template on your layout with the completed paper element. It is hard to describe the sense of satisfaction that comes as you watch your design spring to life before your eyes! And the best part is that it will look exactly like you thought it would every time, if not better! The end result will be an inexpensive, beautiful layout that will bring an added sense of creative fulfillment to your day!
Includes 79 clear totes! 13 clear zipper velcro pouches. 3 wood drawers. 7 shelves with acrylic guards. 2 optional metal rods for ribbons, washi tape, or small punches. 6 large hooks. 3 storage pockets. Cutout for electrical cords. 12 caster wheels to allow unit to glide across (most*) flooring. Fold out table and additional storage underneath.
Waterproof and fade-proof pens for journaling will keep your scrapbook timeless. Pencils are handy for sketching out custom fonts or for marking borders when you may need to erase your work. Try adding your own comments or doodles with coloured pens ranging from fat to skinny tip. If you can’t decide which colour will match with your theme, a classic black ink pen is always a good choice. Handwritten notes detailing facts like dates, locations, and moods are an easy way to personalize your journal and make your entries more memorable and meaningful.

How you tell me a time that you remember seeing a lovely butterfly! Was it in your garden when you sent out to water the tomato plants? Maybe it was at church during the annual Easter Egg Hunt? Or, it could even have been at a wedding where all that attended were given a butterfly to let go of in celebration of the newly married couple. You tell me a lovely memory and some of you will find that SMS Happy Mail will be on its way to you!! Smiles, Stacey
I actually just got started into rubber stamping and die cutting and stuff. (I have had a Sizzix Big Kick machine for years, and haven't used it much. Finding out that these die cuts that are available with some stamps work with this machine, got me into using it again!) You see, I do cross stitch. But the magazines I get from the bookstore comes from the uk. And two magazines went out of production, so there aren't many cross stitch designs for cards, anymore. So i thought i would try cross stitching designs with rubber stamping (cling/clear, whatever you call it) combined!
And don’t worry about cutting a perfect line! A little bit of ink along the edge of each element will hide any blemishes as well as covering up any leftover pencil marks. We also recommend inking your edges as a way to take full advantage of the paper that you’ve chosen to use.Adding ink to each piece will separate the layers of your creation in a way that will highlight the patterns and colors in your paper and add a sense of depth to your layout. To see a demonstration of this step, as well as some tips on cutting, watch this quick video.
Fabulous store! They carry a ton of products; dies, stamps, paper, ribbon, gelatos , copics, watercolors, etc. if you need it they probably have it. The store is laid out very well and each product displayed well. Some are grouped well together in project ideas. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The products are priced very well. Parking is pretty easy but the parking lot does have a bit of seedy element to it. If you can't attend a free Saturday class, the owner, Stacy, has instructional videos on you tube.
Plenty of free parking with no time limits because they have their own parking lot. This shop is in a center with 4 different food establishments. YES! If you're a scrapbooker, you know why that's important. And the no time limit parking. As soon as you enter, you'll see two work tables. I thought this was it... but then we ventured to the back and oh boy! That is a HUGE work area. Love it! Larger than any of the scrapbooking places I've been to in Orange County. I used to frequent 3 different ones. Some snacks and water are complementary... maybe I shouldn't have said that coz there might be some shameless people that would go and just grab the snacks without purchasing anything. But they are there for those scrapping. Hey, the longer you stay there, the more likely you are to buy more stuff. Yeah, I was only supposed to buy a couple of pages and cut a couple of things... I walked out with $40 worth of paper! The papers are kinda expensive, which is normal... but they don't have a sales rack, which I haven't seen before. The ladies are extremely helpful. I WILL BE BACK! THIS WEEK IF I CAN!!!
2.5 stars. Generally, the examples are way too busy for my tastes (I think they are trying to sell more products.) Good basic ideas and layouts for beginners. Offers lots of encouragement. Covers everything from fonts to cropping to creating your work space to embellishments to album ideas. As a long time scrapbooker, I found it was NOT made easy, simply because there was so much in it.
So, here it is, once again, my shout out to those of you in sunny California. This weekend, pass up coming to SMS. Instead, take your crafty budget, regardless of if it is big or small, and make the trip to see Wooten's Scrapbook Store. They are having a wonderful SALE along with selling off their fixtures! And, who doesn't need storage for all of your stash.
You might not know this, but the Anita's brand of products is part of the DoCrafts family! Their Foiled Decoupage is some of the very best that you can find! It is both stunning and affordable all at the same times! Each of the sheets below will let you make not 1, not 2 but 3 wonderful embellishments... for your cards, layouts, tags, gift bags...heck....just about everything! And, the very best part is that they are only $1.50 per sheet...Yep...even with all that yummy foiling they have added!
Scrapbookers will sometimes refer to sketches for inspiration for their pages. Sketches are a hand-drawn layout showing where to position photos, titles, journaling and embellishments. It gives novice scrapbookers somewhere to begin if they are not experienced with balancing the layout correctly. Scrapbookers can interpret the sketch in any way they choose; it is a great starting point when you have scrappers-block. There have been many sketchbooks published and scrapbooking magazines always offer sketches as part of their content.[original research?]
A friend and I went to this store in August 2013 and I ordered a $ 9 stamp set and she ordered a Halloween die for less then $10. The store sale was 20% off entire store. My friend grabbed the last stamp "My Favorite Things a la modes Fight like a Girl" and so I paid for it and Stacey said she would still give us the 20% off and ship both our orders to us free since they were out of stock on these items. I gave her my address to mail both items to save her shipping costs.
For example, college women around the turn of the century used scrapbooks extensively to construct representations of their everyday life as students. Without photograph albums to provide images of these life events, students created unique representations through scrapbooks in order to illustrate their lives using ephemera and memorabilia. A guest list or group of visiting cards might represent a young woman’s visit to a party. A playbill and ticket stub might serve as reminders of a trip to New York to see a Broadway show. Solid objects such as plants, silverware, or small trinkets were also used when further visual representation was needed.
